Gurus & Guidance: Are You Seeing Clearly?

Vol. #4

A prayer: “Hello! Is anyone there? I’m so lost and I don’t know what to do next. I’m drowning. Somebody, please help me.” The Universe grants your requests in the form of a message.

The Message

For the sake of clarity, let’s focus on a situation that is potentially life-altering. Let’s say your money situation is completely out of control and you believe you will be evicted in the next month or two if something doesn’t change.

The messenger is coming. An angel will not appear in the flesh with a pile of money. It’s usually going to be a human being, one that you can relate to, but not necessarily someone that has been through the same situation. More on that later.

Please listen: Any message regarding money you receive when you feel desperate isn’t a lifesaver, it’s an anchor. How do you know? My guess is that 99% of the time that message is tied to you spending money.

You may think the message you’re looking for is “HOW CAN I MAKE $50K IN THE NEXT 24 HOURS?” But money is an effect, not the cause of the problem. Life-altering situations make us emotionally compromised. It’s impossible to make a sound decision in the midst of desperation.

You cannot use an effect (something physical) to change an effect. It’s like looking in a mirror and trying to change the frown on your face by cleaning or smashing the mirror.

When we are in a heightened state of fear we are cut off from our spirit, where your true help lies. So, the first order of business is to calm down so you can reconnect with your spirit.

I hear you. You’re growing impatient and exhausted with the whole mindset conversation. You may be thinking, “Look I prayed for money. This is a message about money. So, this is the message I want to hear.” Well, actually, you prayed for help.

So, let’s do a little soul test. How does the message of money make you feel? Did you feel any sort of peace? Or did you act impulsively in contrast to the faint cries that are saying this is not your path? Did you listen to the message repeatedly so that you could “logically” talk yourself into taking a misguided path?

My friend, in either case, that was your soul telling you no.

The soul always knows exactly what she wants. There is one simple, reliable algorithm for determining a heartfelt ‘no’. If you have to convince yourself and persuade yourself to say yes, then the soul is really saying no.

Reality Transurfing, Vadim Zeland

No more bulldozing, banging things into place or BS. The most important step is to reconnect with your soul where your true power lies.

The Messenger

I will stick with Eckhart Tolle because I’ve been following his work for years. The tools he offered were building blocks I used to change my life and save my life. Yes, that is a bold statement that some of you might feel is arrogant and lacks humility. Ok, read to the end and let me know if your opinion changes.

Please Note: When we are emotionally compromised, it can distort our perception of a message. If we are in despair, we might project our emotions onto what we hear or read, interpreting something that simply isn’t there.

If you’re in a negative state, even a message meant to inspire hope might seem discouraging or critical—not because the message itself is negative, but because of the lens through which you’re viewing it.

With that in mind, read the following quote.

When I heard this message, I had been out of work for months and the credit cards were going to max out soon. Financially, I was “circling the drain.” It was bad, people—really bad. I was not in the right frame of mind to hear this inspired message.

I thought, “What are you saying? This is my home you’re talking about. Are you telling me to be okay with my home being taken from me? You’re saying I should accept homelessness? Screw you, Eckhart! That ain’t happening!”

So, looking at the message now, I can see that my perception was totally off. He wasn’t saying, “Accept the fact that you’re going to lose your home.” That’s not the message.

Can you see what the message is? Please share your thoughts in the comments. Or hit reply and let me know your thoughts. If you have a good question, we may feature it in an upcoming newsletter.

Now, I’m really angry. Which is wonderful because I’ve jumped from feeling powerless and moved up to anger on Abraham Hicks’ Emotional Guidance Scale. See? Listening to the message is working wonders already.

If you watched any of Eckhart Tolle’s videos, you’ll notice he sits there like a statue. It’s quite unnerving if you’ve never experienced his teachings. It feels like he’s telling you to sit there and do nothing while your life is going up in smoke.

Does he practice what he preaches? No! He’s not homeless anymore. *Mr. Tolle is a multi-million-dollar businessman. You don’t earn a multi-million-dollar business by sitting on your butt and doing nothing! I have to do something to change my situation!

Hmm, it’s time for another lesson.

My takeaway: “Yielding to rather than opposing the flow of life” is the Power of Now. Until this point, I was fighting for my life. I was going to lose everything, and Eckhart Tolle was talking nonsense.

I closed my eyes and tried to quiet my mind. I opened my eyes and asked myself: What do you see? Don’t tell me stories of the past or the future—what is happening right now?

  •  I’m in my home.

  • I feel the coolness from the air conditioning.

  • I feel the warm carpet under my feet.

  • I see the blue sky outside my window.

  • Besides sleepless nights, I am in good health.

  • My fridge is full, and my bills (for now) are paid.

Yeah, but nothing has changed. No money is coming in, the credit cards are running out. I’m in trouble. That’s the problem—you’re not in trouble. This is fear—it is a story that you are telling yourself. That’s all. In this moment, none of that exists.

That’s the Power of Now.

When we are fighting (resisting) out of fear, it usually means we are fighting the wrong battle in the wrong way.

No matter how tremendous an obstruction may appear at a distance, you will find that if you go on in the Certain Way it will disappear as you approach it, or that a way over, through, or around it will appear.

Gurus: It’s Business, Not Personal

*Final side note:

If a guru has millions of followers, a well-designed website, hypnotic videos, and a lineup of books, they are a businessperson. What are they selling? Their perspectives on the path to enlightenment.

That doesn’t mean gurus are scammers. You were led to their message for a reason. However, you only hear part of the story. You might be inspired by someone’s transformation, but do you know the whole picture of how they got there? Their path isn’t automatically yours.

The Turning Point

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wracked my brain over a problem to the point of having a mini-mental breakdown. There’s a word for that—worry. We force ourselves (almost as a punishment) to think about our problem nonstop, as if that will somehow solve it.

You try to go to sleep and—BOOM! No way. No sleep for you, my friend. You’ve got worrying to do. Get moving!

It’s an exhausting way to live. Our battle stems from one thing—our attempt to control the uncontrollable.

How did we come up with the notion that life is not OK the way it is, or that it won't be OK the way it will be? Who said that the way life naturally unfolds isn't all right? The answer is, fear says so. The part of you inside that's not OK with itself can't face the natural unfolding of life because it's not under your control.

The Untethered Soul, Michael A. Singer

When I finally admitted that I had no idea how to fix my situation, it was as if the weight of the world had been lifted from my shoulders. That was the turning point.

Eckhart Tolle provided tools that helped me create clarity and reconnect with my spirit, allowing me to find and follow my path. Sometimes, whether it’s a book, a movie, or a person, we lean too heavily on others to direct our journey.

However, your spirit already knows exactly where you should go and the best path to get there. Your power lies in trusting yourself—and walking your own path.

Until Next Time…

Wait! What the heck? How did it all work out? Are you going to leave us hanging?

Yep, that’s why they’re called cliffhangers. 😉

How did today’s message resonate with you?

Got it! The Force is with me… always.

⚔️ Meh. This isn’t the path I’m looking for.

🤖 I find the lack of connection disturbing.
